My Place To Be was founded in 2006 out of need for the Milner family. Rod and Christa's youngest son, Colt was diagnosed with Autism in 2004 and they struggled to find social emotional learning programs for him. Out of this challenge they started My Place To Be on Christa's family farm. Starting organically they taught social emotional leaning classes and in 2017 developed into an education center as an Autism Scholarship and Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship provider.
Our mission is to teach every child with dignity and respect. Understanding that all behavior is a form of communication. Teaching academic skills with each child's individual learning style in the forefront, teaching to the whole child including social emotional, life skills, art, music and transitions. My Place To Be is dedicated to provide an individual, unique learning program for the children who attend to help each child grow to their full potential.
My Place to Be has been such a blessing for our family. The socialization aspect is life changing and will allow our children to function in the world
